Remembering Phoebe Cat

Phoebe, originally uploaded by ktsparks.
On a sad note to end the year we had to put Phoebe down yesterday. I am devastated and heartbroken. She came to us as a stray as a young kitten and our now deceased dog Kelsey adopted her. We always laughed at Phoebe because she was tailless and became a very fat cat with a little head and looked like a Budda with a beautiful face! She was soon to be 12 years old. She developed like so many older cats kidney problems and she was not going to get any better. She lost her toilet training habits and it was time. I just don't accept this sort of thing very well. I am missing those beautiful green eyes and that cute little coral nose of hers.

  1. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I commend you for knowing that it was time to let her go, even if you weren't quite ready. That is unfortunately, the burden that we as the humans bear. :)

  2. Oh Karen, so sorry to hear of your loss. Losing an beloved pet is never easy. I have been going thru last year's pictures and reminiscing about the days I spent with Duke. He died a year ago. Remember the all the happiness she brought into your heart and the great life she had after finding you.((Hugs))

  5. Oh I am so sorry to hear about your Kitty. We too have a aging kitty who is starting to fail health wise and it's tough to watch them.we only got him this last summer at age 11 from a woman who couldn't keep him. She had him since a kitten!

I overheard my husband saying to him last night,
Don't you worry Tristan you will have a home with us until you die"

so sweet and so sad too. We humans get so attached

  8. Oh KT- I am so sorry that it was Phoebe's time. Always remember though, that she will be with you forever in your heart and your memories.

She sure was a beautiful kitty. I'm really glad she found you, as I am sure no better home could have been possible for such a special kitty!

Thinking of you, and sending love- MM

  10. Oh.. we are Manx cat people.. love those fuzzy little butts they have, with a poof where the tail goes.

We had a Phoebe as well, and she was one of the most wonderful cats I had.. so I understand...it is hard to loose our pets.
